The city of Zhanjiang held an activity to promote drowning prevention knowledge in Xiancun village, Mazhang district on Aug 10 with nearly 200 children participating in it.
Co-organized by the Zhanjiang Women's Federation, Zhanjiang Red Cross, and the Women's Federation of Mazhang district, the activity aims to greatly enhance the safety awareness of minors, as well as bolster their self-help and first-aid capabilities.
Members from the Zhanjiang Red Cross Water Emergency Rescue Brigade taught the children about drowning and discussed the importance of preventing drowning. The children learned swimming, self-rescue, high-efficiency rescue, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by watching videos, following the teacher's demonstrations, and taking part in scenario simulations.
More than 200 copies of the Children's Drowning Self-Rescue, Healing, and First Aid Manual were distributed to the children and parents on the spot.
