The final closure of the steel rack of the Xuwen Port transportation hub in Zhanjiang was completed on July 31, marking an important construction period node of the project that is set to be the world's largest passenger and cargo ro-ro terminal.
The Zhanjiang Xuwen Transportation Hub Project is located in Nanshan village, Xuwen county. It is a provincial and municipal key project located in the heart of the transportation channel that connects the Qiongzhou Strait and will serve as a hub for linking Hainan province.
The project has an annual throughput capacity of 3.2 million vehicles and 17.28 million passengers, which can meet the target demand of vehicles and passenger throughput in the Qiongzhou Strait in 2030. After completion, the shipping time of the Qiongzhou Strait will be shortened from 2-3 hours to an hour or so.
The project has a total construction area of 77,458 square meters and has three floors above ground. The steel structure engineering project team used a special platform to track 36,752 components of the entire steel rack to achieve integration of manufacturing and installation. Steel structure virtual assembly technology was used to fit and assemble the theoretical data in a computer to realize the shape of the steel rack.
The steel rack closure marks that the project has completed most of its main construction. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
