The 2019 Zhanjiang Food Safety Publicity Week was launched at the Zhanjiang municipal market supervision bureau on June 27, heralding a week of activities themed around "Food safety makes life better, achieved through virtuous character and the practice of law."
Relevant departments and units are carrying out a series of themed activities, including those aimed at enhancing the food safety awareness of students and teachers, as well as others designed to strengthen the prevention and control of iodine deficiency disorders.
Food safety knowledge is being publicized via websites, official WeChat accounts, print media, television, and other platforms. Posters have been put up with leaflets and pamphlets handed out in communities, schools, and enterprises to help spread understanding.
In addition, various social groups, market entities, and industry associations are promoting the importance of business integrity, as well as popularizing basic food safety knowledge for consumers, food industry practitioners, and media reporters.
Government departments at the county and district levels are also rolling out accompanying events. The goal of the campaign is to improve supervision and management systems for food safety, educate market entities on laws and business credibility, show results of food safety action plans, as well as promote food safety awareness.
The campaign will conclude on July 4.
