A delegation from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology visited Lianjiang, a county-level city featuring a booming small household appliance industry in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province.

The delegation was led by Jiang Kun, director of the department's industrial internet division.

He encouraged local small household appliance manufacturers to use new industrial internet technologies and models to achieve digitization, networking, and smart upgrading, as well as to promote the small household appliance industry to a highly concentrated level. 

The delegation visited the production lines, product exhibition halls, as well as research and development centers at Huaqiang Electric Appliance Group Co and Yincheng Electric Appliances Co.

They learned about the two appliance makers' informatization construction process, application requirements of the industrial internet, difficulties in development, and planning for industrial internet development.

They fully affirmed the enterprises' efforts in developing informatization construction and promoting the development of the small household appliance industry. They also provided guidance on how to better promote the industrial internet to take root in enterprises. 

Lianjiang has strived to develop benchmarks among small household appliance manufacturers with experience that can be promoted. It has encouraged enterprises to purchase cloud services for equipment data, system data, and supply chain data, as well as to integrate with industrial internet platforms.

Huaqiang Electric Appliances Co, Longli Electric Appliances Co, and Tianqi Electric Appliances Co were selected as provincial-level demonstration projects for industrial internet development in 2018, and received a special financial fund of 25 million yuan ($3.63 million).

Other household appliance manufacturers including Yincheng and Weiwang will be recommended to apply to be demonstration projects this year.
