Nearly 500 teenagers from across Zhanjiang gathered at Zhanjiang No 4 Middle School on May 11 to battle it out in the city's first youth robot competition. 

The competition was divided into senior high school, junior high school, elementary school, and kindergarten groups. The rivals competed in eight events including robot comprehensive skills, robot engineering challenges, and robot assembly matches.

Organized jointly by the Zhanjiang Science and Technology Association and the city's education, science and technology bureaus, the event served as a great platform for young robot lovers in Zhanjiang to display their skills and to promote technological knowledge among teenagers.
