On April 17, Zhanjiang Vice Mayor Ou Xianwei encouraged local enterprises that are exhibiting at the first phase of the ongoing 125th Canton Fair at Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou to take full advantage of the platform during an inspection tour.

Accompanied by commerce department officials, Ou investigated the development status of Guangdong Hongzhi Smart Technology, Zhanjiang Household Electric Appliances Industrial, Zhanjiang Sapoe Drink Systems Manufacturing, and other companies. Ou said companies should give impetus to transformation and upgrading, as well as improve innovation capacity of science and technology to advance the pillar industry of the city's economy. This is a major part of Zhanjiang's pursuit to transform from "manufactured in Zhanjiang" to "created in Zhanjiang."

Manufacturing RVs is an emerging industry in Zhanjiang and some related companies are promoting their products at the fair. Ou emphasized the importance of accurate market positioning, improvement of product competitiveness, and taking advantage of opportunities in the overseas market.

The Canton Fair, also known as the China Import and Export Fair, is held biannually in Guangzhou every spring and autumn, and has a history of 62 years since 1957. The first phase of this year's edition is being held from April 15 to 19.
