A conference was held in Zhanjiang on March 20 to promote tourism of Liuzhou's Rong'an county, Rongshui Miao autonomous county and Sanjiang Dong autonomous county.

The colorful folk customs, picturesque natural scenery, and preferential tourism policies of the three counties were introduced to the audience.

As the Sanyuesan Festival (a traditional Zhuang festival) approaches, Guangxi will offer half-priced scenic spot tickets to Guangdong visitors from March 25 to April 30. Self-driving tourists with vehicles with less than seven seats can enjoy a 50 percent discount on highway tolls in Guangxi from April 1 to 8.

Tourism enterprises that bring tourists to Guangxi through charted flights or trains will also receive a maximum award of 20,000 yuan ($2,986). In addition, a new Zhanjiang-Liuzhou flight will be opened on April 1.

This came as a result of the Outline for Action Plan on Anti-Poverty Cooperation between Guangdong Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), which designated Zhanjiang and Liuzhou as sister cities. The two have signed a framework agreement to ramp up tourist cooperation.
