A dozen ring-tailed lemurs from Madagascar have recently been introduced to Zhanjiang's Cunjin Zoo, becoming instantly popular among visitors.

The ring-tailed lemur is a large strepsirrhine primate with a slender frame, narrow face, fox-like muzzle and black-and-white ringed tail. Like all lemurs, it is endemic to the island of Madagascar.

Ring-tailed lemurs like to hang out in groups, play in trees, forage for food, and wander around on the ground. It can walk upright on branches and is quite acrobatic.

The species is highly social, female dominant and affable. Visitors are allowed to enter the cage to interact with them more closely.
