A total of 258 public rental apartments were allocated by the Zhanjiang Housing & Urban-Rural Planning & Construction Bureau to eligible local households through a computer-controlled lottery draw on Nov 29.

The apartments are located in buildings 1, 4 and 5 of a residential community at No 13, 2nd East Ruiyun Road, Mazhang district. The 28-floor buildings, equipped with elevators, feature both one and two-bedroom models.

The public housing scheme is aimed at making affordable housing accessible to low-income earners. It promises a 50 percent discount on rent in the first three years, after which rent concessions will be appropriately adjusted.
