Potential pioneers stood out for their most promising projects at the final of Zhanjiang's second entrepreneurial innovation contest held at Lingnan Normal University on Nov 15.

Finalists were divided into two groups for enterprises and startup teams, and were judged based on their business plans, presentation and answers to professional questions.

The 12 most competitive projects with commercial value came out on top after the two-month face-off, with Zhanjiang Jiajing Culture Communication and a bioengineering team winning the first titles.

The competition winners were granted rewards and government funding as well as professional training. In addition to allowances and subsidies, venture capital investment will also be introduced. Priority will be given to startups to settle in the city's official business incubator.
