Zhanjiang Port Group Co Ltd has handled 8.13 million metric tons of cargo in the first month of 2016, setting a good benchmark for further development during the period of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20), according to Zhanjiang city officials.

In spite of unpleasant weather in January, the company's coal unloading efficiency rose to 71,500 tons per day, a historic record for Panama-type ships unloading capacity.

Industry experts say that the achievement in January not only ensures the power supply in further reaches of the area but gains praise from the customer of the cargo.
