The city of Zhanjiang is expected to receive 33 million tourists this year, with tourism revenue reaching 26 billion yuan ($4 billion), Zhanjiang Evening News reported on Dec 21.

Zhanjiang has developed coastal tourism in recent years. It built the Nansan Island tourism demonstration area and upgraded the Huguangyan Scenic Spot, Techeng Island, Jinshawan and Jizhaowan.

In the future, Zhanjiang will take advantage of its scenic coast to become a national holiday destination.

It will promote the integrated development of "tourism + industry", cooperate with ASEAN countries, improve tourism infrastructure and strengthen service quality and market regulation.
