Zhanjiang's Xuwen Port starts construction

The Xuwen Port project in Zhanjiang has made further progress with the Nanshan operation area having started construction on Oct 30.

With a total investment of 1.18 billion yuan ($186.6 million), Xuwen Port will be equipped with 165,000-ton berths and a special berth for dangerous cargo.

It will also build a fully-fledged passenger transport hub, which will have a port passenger station, a long-distance bus station, a bus transfer station and a taxi transfer station. There will also be a substation, a parking lot, a service center and a logistics distribution center.

Highways, waterways, railways and urban public transport will be connected to the port.

The project aims to build an environment-friendly port, integrating green and intelligent port concepts.
