Zhanjiang-Bangkok direct flights start

Zhanjiang's first international direct air route, which is to Bangkok in Thailand, was launched on Oct 26.

The flights are run by the Beijing Capital Airlines on A320 Airbus planes. The air route will play an important role in promoting trade, tourism and cultural exchanges between western Guangdong and ASEAN countries.

Flights, numbered JD417 and JD418, will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on both ways. It will take about two and a half hours to fly from Zhanjiang to Bangkok.

The Beijing Capital Airlines also launched flights from Zhanjiang to Guilin on the same day, which attracted more than 140 passengers.
