The first direct flights from Zhanjiang to an international destination will launch on Oct 26, according to the Zhanjiang Airport.

The Beijing Capital Airlines will run the flights from Zhanjiang to Bangkok in Thailand on A320 Airbus planes. The air route will play an important role in promoting trade, tourism and cultural exchanges between western Guangdong and ASEAN countries.

Flights, numbered JD417 and JD418, will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on both ways. It will take about two and a half hours to fly from Zhanjiang to Bangkok.
