Zhanjiang development zone gets boost

Zhanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone has been confirmed as one of China's 25 State Circulation Reform Demonstration Pilot Zones, a notice issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance was quoted by Zhanjiang Daily as saying on Aug 28.

The development zone's 13 projects were listed as key projects that will receive financial support from the central government. Total investments in the projects are expected to reach nearly 2.5 billion yuan ($390 million).

In the next few years, Zhanjiang development zone will enhance its economic growth, optimize the industrial development pattern and reduce consumption of resources and energy to increase market competitiveness.

Zhanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, which covers an area of more than 354 square km, is one of the largest State-level economic and technological development zones on the Chinese mainland.
