The first direct container cargo train from Zhanjiang Port to Guizhou started operation at 9:43 am on Aug 13, launching a combined sea, railway, and container transportation in one single route.

The special train takes about 36 hours from Zhanjiang Port to Guizhou, halving the time ordinary trains take on the same route. Customers are allowed to apply for customs declaration and inspection declaration in Guizhou, which helps save time and costs.

Thanks to the special train, cargos packed in Guizhou do not need to change containers halfway and can be delivered to original destinations as designated by domestic and overseas consignees. It ensures the safety of goods and reduces loss, logistics costs and the transportation cost of the clients.

The special train was developed by Zhanjiang Port Group, Chengdu Railway Bureau, Nanning Railway Bureau, Zhanjiang COSCO Logistics Co and large liner companies at home and abroad. It runs a distance of 1,179 kilometers in railway operation mileage every day.

With the sea-railway combined transportation of containers, Guizhou can take advantage of cooperation with Zhanjiang Port to enhance economic and trade exchanges with ASEAN countries, as well as promote the Belt and Road Initiative.
