Leading cultural enterprises based in Zhanjiang impressed visitors with their featured products at the 11th China (Shenzhen) International Culture Industries Fair (ICIF), which opened in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, on May 14.

Zhanjiang pavilion's design and layout featured the theme of marine culture and Maritime Silk Road, with a large wave going up into the sky, representing the skyrocketing development of Zhanjiang in the future.

The pavilion exhibition area is much larger this year, with more enterprises participating. A variety of local goods and products are on display at the 189-square-meter pavilion.

The most stunning item is a 2278.5-meter-long pearl necklace produced by Zhanjiang Ronghui Pearl Co. It consists of 316,474 seawater pearls and weighs 169.89 kg. The necklace recently made it to the Guinness World Records book as the world's longest pearl necklace.

The five-day ICIF fair provided Zhanjiang cultural enterprises with important business opportunities.

Zhanjiang's Chen Rong Sand Painting signed an order worth 5 million yuan ($806,000) during the fair. Sand artist Chen Rong said that this was the third time for him to attend the Shenzhen cultural fair.

"I love this event. I can learn a lot, meet more people and see different cultural products here. I can also get orders at this fair," Chen added.

Chen has expanded his business to third countries, including Singapore, the US, Australia and Spain.

Zhanjiang-based Zhou Sheng Pencil Drawing is another beneficiary of the fair. Zhou's business has recorded growth since he first took part in the cultural fair in 2011.
