A jasmine tea cultural festival kicked off in Liangcuo, a historical and cultural neighborhood in Fuzhou, Fujian province on Oct 16.
With a theme of "world heritage, world flower tea", the festival aimed to showcase the characteristics of Fuzhou jasmine tea culture, as well as boost the integrated development of the jasmine tea industry and Fuzhou culture.
Inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage item were invited to the festival to showcase the traditional techniques of making jasmine tea to visitors. The jasmine floral show and music performances were also staged at the festival, bringing the charm of jasmine tea culture to visitors.
Jasmine tea-related companies also prepared new products, such as jasmine milk tea, jasmine coffee, and jasmine cake, to offer visitors novel experiences.
Fuzhou has been bolstering its efforts to develop the jasmine tea industry in recent years. The city plans to support the development of the jasmine tea industry with preferential policies and standard production to promote and pass down the jasmine tea culture and tea-making techniques.
