Zhuji is the world's largest hub for freshwater pearls. The local industry has established a complete value chain encompassing pearl farming, processing, design, and sales. The city now accounts for 80 percent of China's and 70 percent of the global freshwater pearl market, while emphasizing the fashion potential of pearls to align its products with modern consumer trends.
The full-chain quality standard for Shanxiahu pearl geographical indication products was released at the opening ceremony, alongside the launch of pearl AI detection and intelligent design projects, and a short video competition.
