The GDP growth of Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, was released on July 24.

In the first half of the year, Shaoxing's GDP reached 382.3 billion yuan ($53.06 billion), reflecting a 7 percent year-on-year increase. This growth rate is the highest in Zhejiang province.

Shaoxing's retail sales of consumer goods totaled 149.3 billion yuan, a 10.2 percent year-on-year increase. This was also the highest in the province.

The old-for-new policy has boosted consumption, with spending on upgraded goods remaining strong. Online retail saw significant growth, with sales by larger enterprises through public networks rising by 67 percent.
