Following a tragic incident in Chongzhou, Chengdu, where a two-year-old child was attacked by a Rottweiler, cities in China are fortifying their dog management policies to ensure public safety.

Back in 2019, the municipal public security bureau had issued the "Shaoxing City List of Fierce Dogs and Standards for Prohibiting Large Dog Breeds in Restricted Areas," explicitly banning the keeping of 21 dog breeds regardless of size.

The city prohibits the keeping of 21 fierce dog breeds, regardless of their size. These include Tibetan Mastiffs, German Shepherds, Caucasian Shepherds, Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, Argentine Dogos, French Mastiffs, and others.

The restricted areas prohibit the keeping of large dogs that are over 60 centimeters in shoulder height and 90 centimeters in body length, excluding guide dogs for the blind, service dogs for physically disabled individuals, and working dogs for military and scientific research purposes.
