Shaoxing, Tianjin University partner on smart manufacturing

The government of Shaoxing inked a cooperation deal with Tianjin University on Feb 5 to co-build the Zhejiang Institute of Creative Design and Intelligent Manufacturing.
Jin Donghan, president of Tianjin University, Gu Peihua, fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and government officials from Shaoxing attended the signing ceremony.
Jin delivered a speech in which he praised Shaoxing's positive attitude to developing creative design and smart manufacturing as the project was landed within two months, passing from the early negotiation to final approval stages.
He said that the institute will focus on conducting technological research, training skilled workers, and bolstering the high-quality growth of Shaoxing.

Shaoxing officials praised the leading roles that Tianjin University has played in many research fields, saying that the cooperation project marks a good start for the two sides to extend bilateral cooperation to more fields.
They said that they expected the institute to train more skilled workers and inject more energy to boost Shaoxing's high-quality growth.
The project is aiming to be a nationally renowned example for city-university cooperation, as well as a hub for incubating numerous skilled workers.
