Geely connects cars, satellites, and AI for smarter mobility
Geely Holding Group is integrating autonomous vehicles, satellites, and AI through its RoboX strategy, building a mobility network that connects digital services with the physical world.
Ahead of the eighth World Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Convention, which opens in Hangzhou on Nov 6, reporters visited the company to explore its approach to intelligent transport.
The strategy combines purpose-built vehicles, autonomous driving technology, and operating services, with ride-hailing platform CaoCao serving as its primary commercialization platform. Real-world trip orders and traffic data feed into research and development to make autonomous driving better suited to commercial operations.
On the ground, robotaxis carry passengers. Above them, a low-Earth-orbit satellite constellation provides centimeter-level positioning and supplementary satellite Internet of Things connectivity, helping vehicles stay connected in areas with weak terrestrial signals.
The system also provides interfaces for AI agents to access transport services, linking user requests with vehicle dispatch and trip completion. Users can check the Robotaxi section of the CaoCao mini program for opportunities to participate in trial rides.
