Hehe culture connects young people across borders
Nearly 1,000 young people from China and abroad, representing more than 60 countries, have taken part in a series of Hehe culture activities organized by Taizhou, Zhejiang province, in 2026.
The activities introduce young people to Hehe culture, a traditional Chinese philosophy emphasizing harmony and cooperation.
At Taizhou University, Hehe principles have been incorporated into education through specialized courses and practical activities that connect cultural learning with industry.
The university also held an international cultural festival this year, attracting more than 1,000 Chinese and international students and faculty members from over 40 countries and regions. Participants joined cultural performances and country-themed fairs.
Beyond the campus, Taizhou launched a university partnership program to promote Hehe culture, bringing together an initial group of 16 universities across Zhejiang.
Through youth dialogues, cultural fairs, and visits to historical sites, the program offers international students opportunities to explore Hehe culture through firsthand experiences.
