A total of 128 companies from Quzhou, Zhejiang province, will participate in the 140th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, which is scheduled to be held from Oct 15 to Nov 4 in Guangzhou.

Zhejiang Smile Tools plans to send a three-member team to the fair, with a focus on expanding its presence in Central and South American markets while maintaining its traditional European business. Sales to Central and South America now account for more than 10 percent of the company's export volume.

Zhejiang Xuecun Refrigeration Equipment will send six employees and present a broader range of products than at the 139th Canton Fair, which was held in Guangzhou from April 15 to May 5.

Quzhou Wenda Import and Export has also upgraded its product lineup since the previous fair, adding several new products, including seven patented items with distinctive functions.

Quzhou Sanrock Heavy Industry Machinery said it plans to use the fair to better understand demand from overseas customers and expand its presence in overseas markets.

The city's commerce bureau said it will send a service team to the fair and arrange for local companies to take part in industry exchanges, procurement matchmaking, promotional events, and policy briefings.
