Three athletes from Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, delivered an impressive performance at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, winning three gold medals and one silver.

Swimmer Wu Qingfeng led the haul with two golds and one silver, helping China win the women's 4×100-meter freestyle relay before claiming gold in the women's 50-meter freestyle, setting a new Asian Games record. She also took silver in the women's 50-meter butterfly.

Veteran sprinter Xie Zhenye secured gold in the men's 4×100-meter relay. Running the anchor leg, he helped China defend its title.

The Games also marked the emergence of Shaoxing's next generation of athletes. Sixteen-year-old swimmer Xie Yichen made his Asian Games debut and reached the final of the men's 200-meter individual medley, finishing fifth. While he missed the podium, competing against Asia's top swimmers offered valuable experience for his development.

Shaoxing has continued to strengthen its sports development system through youth talent programs, professional training and high-level competition, creating a strong pipeline of emerging athletes.
