New varieties of colorful moth orchids from the Chongfu Agricultural Innovation Park in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, have become popular among buyers during the peak flower-buying season in 2026.

Unlike traditional moth orchids, which are typically blue or purple, these orchids come in a wide range of colors, including red, yellow, pink, white, and blue.

One of the new arrivals, an orchid with a gradient that transitions from its center to the edges of its petals, creating a layered effect, has quickly become a top choice among consumers.

Sales of these moth orchids have surged since New Year's Day, with monthly sales reaching between 5,000 and 7,000 pots. As the Spring Festival approaches, demand is expected to rise further, with monthly sales forecast to exceed 10,000 pots.

With the infusion of youthful energy from the park's 93 agricultural startups and a team of 270 young professionals, the Chongfu Agricultural Innovation Park has become a model for rural development. The park now generates an annual output exceeding 300 million yuan ($43 million), has created over 1,300 jobs, and has contributed to local economic growth.
