Zhejiang province is accelerating its push into sea–air–space high-end equipment. The province showcased its ambitions at a technology matchmaking event held in Taizhou on Dec 9.

According to the newly released Zhejiang Sea–Air–Space High-End Equipment Industry Development Guide, the province will focus on two core industrial chains — marine satellites and marine unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) — and build an integrated sky–earth–sea system spanning satellite platforms, core payloads, UAV flight platforms, intelligent processing, and data services.

Zhejiang will promote coordinated growth in unmanned vessels and marine robotics. Over the next three to five years, the goal is to establish a nationally leading innovation cluster and demonstration base.

Industrial scale-up requires strong platforms. The Taizhou Bay New Area now hosts 84 upstream and downstream enterprises in the aerospace and low-altitude sectors. The general aviation and low-altitude economy in the zone has reached an output of about 18.7 billion yuan ($2.67 billion), forming an ecosystem that spans complete aircraft manufacturing, key components, and operational services.
