The Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Railway, a pivotal project enhancing connectivity in Zhejiang province, is set to begin operations in August. The railway's Wenzhou section recently completed its static acceptance checks, signaling readiness for the upcoming launch.

The railway starts from Tonglu East Station in Hangzhou, heading south through Jinhua and southeast to Taizhou, before reaching Wenzhou North Station in Wenzhou. From there, it connects to the existing Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou Railway to Wenzhou South Station.

The newly-built line spans 260 kilometers and is designed for speeds of up to 350 km per hour. Its construction was executed in two phases, with the first commencing in June 2020 and the second in September 2021.

With nine stations along its route, the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Railway will connect with the existing Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway, offering direct high-speed connections from Hangzhou West Station to Yiwu, Hengdian and Wenzhou. Once operational, it will enable passengers to travel swiftly between Hangzhou and Wenzhou, with the journey time reduced to around one hour.

In addition, construction has recently concluded on the Nanxi River Station's comprehensive transportation hub, a supporting endeavor for the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Railway. This hub is set to become a northern Wenzhou tourist distribution center and a key transport junction for Yongjia county.
