As Hangzhou ushers in the Year of the Dragon, a greeting letter is addressed to Hangzhou entrepreneurs at home and abroad from Liu Jie, Deputy Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee, joined by Yao Gaoyuan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government. In the letter, sincere gratitude is extended to the entrepreneurs for their hard work and dedication in diverse fields, as well as their passionate encouragement of the advancement and internalization of their hometown through the devotion of their wisdom and strength.   

The letter reads as follows: 

As the New Year dawns, the jade rabbit joyfully bids farewell to the old year, while the celestial dragon leaps forth, displaying grand aspirations. On the occasion of the Spring Festival, we, on behalf of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee and the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, extend our New Year greetings and best wishes to Hangzhou entrepreneurs both at home and abroad.

The year 2023 marked the commencement of the full implementation of the guiding principles of the Party's 20th National Congress, the 20th anniversary of the Double-Eight Strategy (the strategy of making full use of eight advantages and implementing eight major measures), and the year of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou. Under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, and the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, we have come together to secure a comprehensive victory in revitalizing the economy and hosting the Games, thus setting a new milestone for Hangzhou's development. This year, we have traced the origins of and learned from advanced thoughts to promote practice, reinforcing our belief and confidence in deepening the Double-Eight Strategy. We have managed to host the most successful Asian Games in history by adhering to the principles of "simple, safe, and wonderful". We have resolutely shouldered greater responsibility as a major economically developed city, resulting in the steady improvement of our economy: the regional GDP has surpassed 2 trillion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 5.6 percent; and the actual foreign direct investment has reached a historical peak, with the growth rate ranking first among the 11 key Chinese cities by GDP. We have coordinated and advanced three "No.1 Projects", which accelerated the accumulation of momentum for high-quality development, resulting in our city's number of "Top 500 Chinese Private Enterprises" maintaining the top among Chinese cities for 21 consecutive years. We have devoted our efforts to enhancing people's well-being and promoting common prosperity, and have won the title of "China's Happiest City" for 17 years in a row.

These hard-won achievements are the fruits of arduous efforts. Hangzhou entrepreneurs at home and abroad have consistently supported and participated in the city's development with a strong sense of ownership. Your hard work, struggle, and dedication have left an indelible mark in various fields such as economic development, Asian Games preparation, common prosperity advancement, cultural promotion, and ecological progress. Together with all the officials and the people across the city, you have co-authored a new chapter in the development of Hangzhou. We hereby express our heartfelt thanks for your diligent efforts and contributions!

The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a key year as another step for Hangzhou to advance the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), reach new heights, and stand at the forefront of the times. We sincerely hope that you will carry forward a strong pioneering spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation and strive to be pragmatic and responsible doers as well as enterprising innovators in reform, so as to showcase the city's elegance and spread its voice to the world. We earnestly hope that you will bestow greater attention and support towards the development of our hometown, contribute more wisdom and strength, and promote the return of projects, talent, and capital, jointly helping Hangzhou to expedite its transformation into a socialist, modern and international metropolis with global influence.
