The Yangtze River Delta area's transport scheme for this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday was released recently.

During this year's holiday, railway lines in the Yangtze River Delta area will carry about 15 million passengers, an increase of more than 20 percent from the same period in 2019.

June 22 is expected to see the most traffic, with around 3.5 million passengers. The average number of daily railway passenger trips is expected to reach 3 million during the holidays.

This year's Dragon Boat Festival railway transportation period will last five days, from June 21 to 25.

During the period, the passenger flow is expected to mainly be tourists and family visits. With summer vacation approaching, the willingness of teachers and students to travel continues to increase, and tourism consumption is increasing.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is traditionally celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month on the Chinese lunar calendar.
