Seventy-seven companies from Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province made their debut at the spring edition of the 2023 China (Shanghai) Textile Industry Expo, which commenced in Shanghai on March 28.

The event, which is jointly organized by the China National Textile Industry Council and Messe Frankfurt (Hong Kong) Limited, is the largest offline exhibition in China following the nation's optimization of its epidemic control policies.

Billed as the gateway to Asia's home living, the expo attracted more than 5,000 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions including Japan, South Korea, India, Singapore, Switzerland, the United States and Vietnam.

Of the 77 Huzhou businesses in attendance, 52 of them set up booths at the fair, while the rest sent representatives to source for design inspirations and seek business opportunities. The exhibition space occupied by Huzhou companies spans nearly 920 square meters.

The expo comes as part of a campaign launched by Huzhou to help foreign trade companies expand into overseas markets through international expos.

In the first quarter of this year, the campaign saw 262 companies from the city attend 85 expos from home and abroad and secure intended deals worth $112.72 million.
