Thirty-eight villages from Huzhou recently made the 2022 list of provincial demonstration villages for high-standard household garbage classification, bringing the total number of such villages in the city to 105.

Among them is Qingcaowu village in Lijiaxiang town, Changxing county. The village has taken a raft of measures, including establishing a patrol team and introducing a mechanism that allows residents to earn points through garbage sorting. These points can then be used to redeem gifts.

In the first three quarters of 2022, over 980 cases related to breaches of household garbage sorting regulation in rural areas were dealt with in Huzhou, official statistics show.

The city has been ranked first among cities in Zhejiang in a provincial assessment of the promotion of household garbage sorting for three years in a row.
