Zeeker, the premium electric car arm of Chinese automaker Geely, unveiled its pure electric minivan Zeeker 009 in Wuzhen, a renowned ancient town in East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 1.

The six-seater minivan is equipped with a 140-kWh lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt pack developed by CATL that offers a range of 822 kilometers.

The vehicle is also capable of accelerating from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in only four and a half seconds courtesy of a punch dual-motor setup with a combined 536 horsepower.

Like the Zeeker 001, the new car model will be produced at the Zeeker's factory in the Qianwan New Area in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.

On Oct 11, about a year after its launch, the 50,000th unit of Zeeker 001 rolled off the production line in Ningbo.

Zeeker's robust growth has offered a glimpse into the potential of the thriving automobile industry in Ningbo. In the first three quarters of this year, over 500,000 cars were produced in the city.

Driven by the huge popularity of electric cars, the added value of the city's automobile manufacturing sector grew by 22.8 percent year-on-year.
