​Jiaxing Port ranks 83rd in world

Jiaxing Port ranked 83rd among the world's top 100 container ports in 2021 acccording to Lloyd's List, up six places from 2020.

From January to July, Jiaxing Port completed a total container throughput of 1.61 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 29.16 percent, the highest growth rate in Zhejiang province.

During this period, the container throughput of sea-river combined transportation was 417,100 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 81.98 percent. In July, 72,300 TEUs were handled at the port via sea-river combined transportation, a surge of 167.89 percent and a new record high.

In 2022, Jiaxing Port is expected to handle 130 million metric tons of cargo and achieve a container throughput of 2.75 million TEUs, of which container throughput via sea-river combined transportation is expected to reach 750,000 TEUs.

Jiaxing Port has opened four near-ocean routes to Japan, Vietnam, Russia and Thailand and two foreign trade internal branch routes from Zhapu Port Area to Ningbo Zhoushan Port and from Dushan Port Area to Shanghai Port. Twelve domestic trade routes such as Jiaxing to Yingkou, Jinzhou, Tangshan, Quanzhou and Guangzhou and 21 inland river lines sea-river combined transportation are also operating.
