Established in 1951, Jiangjin District Maternal and Child Health Hospital is the only 2A specialized hospital in the district that integrates medical care, maternal and child health care, teaching and scientific research.

It is responsible for the medical care of more than 700,000 women and children in the district. It is a "baby-friendly hospital" named by the National Health Commission, a "national civilized unit", "national advanced collective in the health and family planning system", "national top 100 maternal and child health care organizations (district and county level)" and "national advanced collective in maternal and child health service".

The hospital covers an area of about 26,000 square meters, with a construction area of nearly 15,000 square meters and 300 registered beds. Relying on high-precision medical equipment and professional technology, the hospital has built the city's first "prenatal eugenic screening center" and the "treatment center for critically ill pregnant and lying-in women and newborns". The maternal health specialty and women's common disease prevention and treatment specialty are municipal key specialties.
