Founded in 1951, Chongqing Jiangjin District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine consists of three parts: Degan Headquarters, Sipaifang Branch and Xiaoshizi Branch. It is a 3A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching and research, a standardized training base for resident traditional Chinese medicine doctors, a double-qualified teacher training base of Chongqing Medical and Pharmaceutical College, a teaching hospital of Hubei University of Chinese Medicine and Zunyi Medical and Pharmaceutical College.

The hospital occupies an area of 49,258.12 square meters, with a total construction area of 70,476.23 square meters and a business area of 44,000 square meters. It has 850 registered beds, and the number of beds available is 1,000. It is also the work station of the national famous traditioal Chinese medicine doctors Wang Huiwu, Guo Jianhua, Zhou Tianhan and Zhang Anfu.

There are 4 ambulances in the hospital, an ECG network center, a chest pain center and a remote consultation system, benefiting remote consultation with major hospitals in China.

It is leading in the district in the minimally invasive technology and Chinese and Western medical diagnosis and treatment. The Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion is a key specialty of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan designated by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Department of Massage is a key traditional Chinese medicine specialty of rural medical institutions, the Department of Cardiomyelology is an inheritance of Zhou Tianhan, a national famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, the Departments of Cardiology, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation are key specialties in Chongqing.
