Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital is the largest and most powerful 3A traditional Chinese medicine hospital in Chongqing. Integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and public welfare, it is a MOH International Assistance Network Hospital, a baby-friendly hospital, a national drug clinical trial institution, a non-direct affiliated hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Chongqing Chinese Medicine Hospital and Fourth Clinical Medical College affiliated to Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and one of the first approved national key traditional Chinese medicine hospitals of the project for inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine. The hospital is ranked 13 in the list of "Top 100 Chinese Medicine Hospitals of 2018" issued by the Ailibi Hospital Management Research Center, leading the hospitals in western China. 

The hospital is divided into the Nanqiao Temple Branch of Jiangbei District and the Damenkou Branch of Yuzhong District. It covers an area of 173 acres and has a construction area of nearly 200,000 square meters. There are 2,500 registered beds, 3,000 beds available, 32 clinical departments and 10 medical technology departments.

The hospital is the Chongqing Branch of the Chinese Medicine Literature Search Center and the Chongqing Branch of the National Acupuncture Clinical Center. It hosts the magazine "Journal of Emergency in Traditional Chinese Medicine". The Chongqing Association of Chinese Medicine, the Chongqing Association of the Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine, the Chongqing Acupuncture Association and the Chongqing Industry Association of Chinese Medicine are all affiliated with the hospital. 

The hospital has more than 200 large-scale medical equipment such as medical linear accelerators and large-scale digital radiotherapy systems. The total value of the medical equipment is more than 500 million yuan. 

The hospital has won more than 130 scientific and technological achievement awards at various levels. Among them, "a preparation method of Chinese herbal compound for treating menopausal syndrome" won the first prize of the Scientific and Technological Invention Award of China Association of Chinese Medicine. The hospital has developed a number of new drugs such as Shenmai Injection, Dantao Mixture, Jiangtang Pills, and Gengnian Ningxin Capsules. 228 kinds of in-hospital preparations were approved by the Food and Drug Administration. It has undertaken more than 300 construction projects and scientific research projects at the national, provincial and ministerial levels and assigned by the Chongqing Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission. 

The hospital has won more than 100 honors including the National May 1st Labor Award, the National Advanced Grassroots Party Organization, and the National Civilized Unit.
