Third Chinese medical team donates medical equipment to Barbados

On May 17, the 2019 hand-over ceremony of equipment and materials donated to Barbados by the government of the People's Republic of China was held in Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) of Barbados.
Yan Xiusheng, the Chinese ambassador to Barbados; Qu Ying, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese ambassy in Barbados; Cheryl Alleyne, deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Barbados; and Louise Bobb, CEO of the QEH, as well as members of the third China Medical Team attended the donation ceremony.
Yan pointed out that the donation reflected the friendly feelings of the Chinese government and people towards Barbados. He believed that the Chinese medical team and the colleagues in the QEH will make full use of the medical equipment and materials to further improve treatment capacity and to benefit more Barbadians. The Chinese government will further deepen cooperation between China and Barbados in the field of health care, and strengthen the two countries' cooperative relationship.
Alleyne thanked the Chinese government for the donation, and praised the medical team in Barbados for their contributions. She said that the donation will further improve the hospital's medical service ability and benefit more patients in Barbados.
Counselor Qu Ying and Louise Bobb, CEO of the QEH, signed the handover certificate on behalf of their respective sides.
