Delegation led by director Huang arrive in PNG for medical aid

Port Moresby General Hospital welcomed a team of urologists from China on March 20.
The team conducted free minimally invasive surgeries for the local people at the PMGH, the country's largest public hospital.
It was for the first time that China had sent a short-term medical team to PNG.
The team also held the first Sino-PNG urology minimally invasive academic forum, further strengthening exchanges and cooperation and enhancing friendship between the people of the two countries.
Among the delegates was Huang Minghui, Party secretary and director of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission.
Huang expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of PNG and his willingness to further strengthen cooperation with PNG in the field of health care. He said that China will send more skilled medical personnel to PNG to benefit its people.
Minister of Health of PNG Temu thanked the Chinese government for its strong support and selfless help in advancing development of PNG's health care industry over the years by sending Chinese medical team and donating a large amount of medical equipment.

The PMGH's chief executive officer, Umesh Gupta, welcomed the Chinese medical team and thanked them for supporting the hospital and people of PNG.
The team also conducted in-depth exchanges on the achievements of Chinese medical team in the past 17 years, the purpose and significance of this visit, and prospects for deepening the cooperation between China and PNG in the health field, during a visit to the Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in PNG.
Yao Ming, Charge D'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in PNG, and commercial counselor Liu Linlin fully affirmed and highly praised the achievements of the Chinese medical team, especially the ninth team.
In 2002, Chongqing sent the first Chinese medical team to PNG. To date, nine medical teams with a total of 90 specialists have been sent to the country.
