The first short-term team of Chinese doctors, led by Zhou Lin, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, completed their tour and medical academic exchanges in Barbados on July 25.
The tour ran from July 16 to 25, with the team conducting several surgical demonstrations and academic exchanges in Queen Elizabeth Hospital. It helped promote medical and health exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, expanded the influence of China's medical aid programs in the country, and improved the hospital's medical service capabilities.
Yan Xiusheng, Chinese ambassador to Barbados, met with the team and praised the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission for sending high-level experts and medical teams to Barbados. He added that the activity will further promote bilateral relations and friendship as well as health care cooperation between the two sides.
