Modern urban agriculture
The agglomeration effect in modern urban agriculture is being increasingly promoted. The city is speeding up construction of the national agriculture scientific and technological parks, improving the layout of the "two parks and one corridor" initiative (a modern marine industry park, a modern gardening industry park, and a modern urban leisure industry corridor), and optimizing the structures of high-end, ecological and facility-oriented agriculture.
The flower industry is also developing rapidly, with the plantation area reaching an area of 2 million square meters. Eight production bases and two research and development centers for flowers were built, whilst the construction of a pasture of oceanic ecology is accelerating. Its deep-processed algae products are currently exported to more than 10 countries and regions including Japan and South Korea, making Lushunkou is the only state-level quality and safety demonstration zone for undaria pinnatifida exports in China.
The 100-ton ocean and fishery law-enforcement ship is under construction, and measures for marine ecology protection such as seasonal closing to fishing continue to make progress.
The Lushun pear and Lushun dried baby shrimp have attained the title of "National Protection of Geographical Indications", and the Tieshan Duizhuanggou village and Shuangdao Qujia village were honored as national model villages. A total of 10 farms have been built and the Tieshan Wangjia village was chosen as a pilot village of the national "Beautiful Village" Program. Lushunkou took the lead in Dalian to implement six ecological improvement projects. It was thus named the national agricultural standardization demonstration county for cherry and a winner of the "Dayu Cup", a provincial farmland construction contest.
