Zhuhai was selected as one of "China's Top 10 Most Competitive Exhibition Cities (Municipalities) in 2022" on Oct 26 during the China Exhibition City Industry Cooperation Conference that was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. 

The 2022 China City Exhibition Industry Competitiveness Index Report and the latest rankings for the top competitive municipal and county-level cities in the exhibition industry were also released at the event. 

Zhuhai, together with Foshan and Dongguan in Guangdong Province and Suzhou and Wuxi in Jiangsu Province, ranked in the top five. Zhuhai was named China's most competitive exhibition municipality city for the fourth consecutive year.

The China Exhibition City Competitiveness Index has been released continuously for eight years and is considered a comprehensive evaluation system with a relatively high impact in the field.

The index focused on five dimensions of the exhibition industry: professional competitiveness, the competitiveness of exhibition enterprises, exhibition infrastructure, the macro environment of exhibition cities, and the comprehensive services of exhibitions. 

It comprehensively measures the development status and potential exhibition competitiveness of 105 sample cities nationwide, reflecting the industrial vitality and resilience of the exhibition industry.

In order to keep its top position, representatives of the Zhuhai Bureau of Commerce participated in dialogues and exchanged experiences with the exhibition industry authorities in cities such as Jiangsu's Nanjing, Chengdu, and Guangdong's Shenzhen. 

The delegation also visited Sichuan International Expo Group to learn about the operation experience of major government-hosted exhibition events. The city plans to introduce various exhibition projects, especially those that are in line with the needs of Zhuhai's seven pillar industries.

A Zhuhai official put forward that the exhibition industry is an important window and platform that promotes high-level opening-up and builds a new development pattern. 

As a leading sector in the modern service industry, the exhibition industry in Zhuhai will continue to advance with the "Industry First" strategy. Zhuhai will jointly promote the integrated development of its exhibition industry with Hong Kong and Macao through the "exhibition + Industry" model.

Phase II of the Zhuhai International Convention and Exhibition Center will open on Nov 2, with plans to hold major events such as the 2023 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Fair for Trade in Services there.
