Gaoxin Interchange opens in time to ease holiday traffic congestion
The new Gaoxin Interchange - or the Jinqin Express intersection-Xingye Express intersection - opened to traffic in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan) on Sept 27.
The project is an urban expressway spanning 3.68 kilometers (2.29 miles), starting from the southwestern starting point of Jinqin Express Phase I, located in front of the Beijing Institute of Technology in Zhuhai, and extending northeast to the north extension line of the Jinqin Express Phase I connecting to Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link.
It also connects southeast to Gangwan Avenue and the Xingye Express and northwest to Gangwan Avenue, to the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway.

Motorists travelling from downtown Zhuhai on the Jinqin Express can now make a left turn at the Gaoxin Interchange to head towards Guangzhou and Jinding town.
Those entering Gangwan Avenue from the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway can turn right at the Gaoxin Interchange, leading to the Jinqin Express for access to Fenghuang Mt Tunnel and downtown Zhuhai.
After reaching the Gaoxin Interchange through Gangwan Avenue from the downtown area, drivers can proceed towards Guangzhou by taking the Jinfeng Intersection.
From Hagongda Road, they can go in the direction of Guangzhou via the Jinfeng Intersection and Gaoxin Interchange.
The new route, in particular, will allow drivers to avoid the traffic lights at the intersection of Hagongda Road and the Jinfeng Intersection when heading towards the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway. Through coordination with the city's traffic police, guidance for the new route have been provided by navigation apps like Gaode and Baidu.
