The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin has planned an informative themed exhibition and stunning light show to celebrate the second anniversary of its establishment.

A themed exhibition opened on Sept 11 at the first-floor lobby of the Hengqin Checkpoint. Admission is free and the exhibit will run until Oct 6. 

Hosted by the Cooperation Zone Livelihood Affairs Bureau, the exhibition focuses on the four major industries that are pivotal to the zone's development. It showcases Hengqin's construction history and explores the planning blueprint for Guangdong-Macao in-depth cooperation. The innovation and integration achievements between Hengqin and Macao are also on display.

The second Hengqin Tianmu River Light Show, another event organized by the Cooperation Zone Livelihood Affairs Bureau, will take place at Tianmu River Rowing Park from Sept 28 to Oct 3. It aims to create a festive atmosphere for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays. 

The light show will run daily from 4 to 10 pm. It will integrate cutting-edge technologies such as 3D naked-eye animation and dazzling laser shows.

The light show will utilize a 1,000-square-meter (10,764-sq-ft) water screen and a 30-meter (98-ft) intelligent water curtain to create visually stunning scenes full of sound, light, and electricity. A total of 1,000 drones will also be utilized for aerial performances during the show.

Additionally, the show will also feature a riverside music concert and a food market. Six jazz bands will be performing by the Tianmu River at sunset, and 30 food stalls will ensure that visitors are well fed during the event period.

Last year's edition of the Hengqin Tianmu River Light Show attracted more than 30,000 people to celebrate the first anniversary of the Cooperation Zone's establishment. 

Officials of the Cooperation Zone Livelihood Affairs Bureau said that this year's event will be bigger and better than its previous edition. It is hoped that this event will become a renowned brand for Hengqin in the future.
