100,000+ Macao vehicles recorded entering Guangdong
As of April 3, the number of vehicles with Macao license plates crossing the Guangdong boundary via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Zhuhai Port has exceeded 100,000 since the implementation of the policy "Macao Cars Going Northward" on Jan 1, according to the HZMB Customs.
Allowing Macao single-plate vehicles to cross the boundary has been considered as an important policy for boosting connection in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It has remarkably improved the travel experience for Macao motorists, as many Macao residents who work in Zhuhai no longer need to walk through the boundary.

With the approach of spring, many Macao residents choose to drive to Zhuhai and Zhongshan during weekends to enjoy their leisure time. The number of Macao single-plate vehicles crossing the border via the HZMB Zhuhai Port on April hit 3,698, setting a record high in terms of the daily clearance volume.
Currently, the clearance volume of Macao single-plate vehicles crossing the Guangdong boundary accounts for around 50 percent of the total volume of passenger vehicles entering or leaving Zhuhai through the HZMB Zhuhai Port.
Gao Yang, of HZMB Customs, stated that customs will continue to expand the application of intelligent equipment to improve its services and customs clearance efficiency. This will both elevate convenient travel and contribute towards the in-depth integration of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
