Zhuhai delegation lauds fruitful outcomes of Southeast Asian visits
A delegation of representatives from 25 Zhuhai-based enterprises, led by Vice Mayor Li Chong, visited Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand from March 21 to 28, in order to boost Zhuhai's economic and trade cooperation with RCEP member countries and countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Members of the delegation included representatives from CEC Zhuhai, Zhuhai Communications Group, and Guangdong Roule Electronics.
The 2023 Conference on International Industrial Cooperation (Singapore) & China's Machinery and Electronics Show in Singapore opened on March 22, with Zhuhai setting up an exhibition area of 72 square meters (775 sq ft) to promote local brands. This has helped enterprises reach out to overseas market resources in Singapore and other RCEP member countries.
The Zhuhai delegation received around 1,000 visitors and businessmen from countries and regions such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam during the four-day fair. Through the delegation's efforts, several regional cooperation project intentions were signed, with a total trading volume of $26 million.
Zhuhai's investment environment was comprehensively promoted and discussed, and the delegation also paid on-site visits to famous business associations and enterprises in Singapore, such as Yanlord Land, GLP, Shopee, and PSA International. These visits were done to carry out matchmaking meetings with international resources in Singapore regarding port operation, logistics, cross-border e-commerce, finance, and sci-tech innovation.

An economic and trade matchmaking fair was held on March 24 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, gathering local business associations, enterprises, and service agencies to help Zhuhai enterprises expand into the Malaysian market.
The delegation went on to hold a meeting at a Malaysian enterprise that has been invested in by Ninestar. This is where the delegation and Malaysian enterprises carried out exchanges in areas of new energy, consumer electronics, food, and cross-border e-commerce. This meeting resulted in several cooperation intentions.
Wu Guocheng, general manager of Zhuhai Comking Electric, noted that the visit has not only helped enterprises deepen their understanding of the latest market trends, but has also provided a lot of opportunities for them to attract new customers.
The delegation went on to visit Thailand on March 26. Zhuhai Lingdu Technology signed a $6 million order purchase agreement with a Thai enterprise, and the Zhuhai Import & Export Chamber of Commerce inked a framework agreement on friendly cooperation with the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Thailand.
