HZMB Zhuhai Port opens cargo passages to Macao
The Zhuhai-Macao cargo transportation passages at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Zhuhai Port passed on-site inspections on Feb 14, opening a third cargo transport port between the two regions, after the Gongbei and Hengqin checkpoints.
The HZMB Zhuhai Port gained approval from the State Council in December 2019 to expand its function for Zhuhai-Macao cargo transportation, and temporary passages opened on Aug 16, 2020. As of now, the average number of cargo trucks that cross the boundary daily stands at 700.

The Zhuhai Port is now able to provide safe and efficient customs clearance for Zhuhai-Macao transportation trucks, helping promote the optimization of cross-boundary logistics between the two regions.
It is also expected that the acceptance of these passages will accelerate the construction of a new economic and trade corridor for HZMB, as well as boost the high-quality development of Zhuhai's foreign trade.
In addition, the opening of the passages will support Macao's moderate diversified economic development.
