Six teams set sail on Dec 24 in the Fourth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Sailing Championship: the Jiuzhou Cup. They sailed all the way down from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, to Haibin Beach and then to Xianglu Bay.

The Jiuzhou Cup is the first independent sailing event in Zhuhai, and has had six sessions since 2017, attracting yachting enthusiasts and associations from all over the country to participate in, especially those in the Greater Bay Area.

Li Wenjun, deputy general manager of Zhuhai Jiuzhou Holdings, expressed hope that the event could be a platform for competitors to establish friendship and carry out technique exchanges, while deepening communication between Zhuhai and other cities.

The event is also expected to boost the integrated development of Zhuhai's sports and leisure tourism industries, contributing to the development of Zhuhai city's good reputation.

In recent years, Zhuhai has seen rapid development of sailing activities. The city has been hosting various national and international yachting competitions since 2016. These events have brought more attention to Zhuhai, letting the city showcase its youthful and charismatic charm.
